These days there are many people that are starting online businesses.  The Internet is a great resource for growing businesses because they allow the business to reach potential customers that they would have never been able to before.  Starting an online business from scratch can be a difficult process but is doable if you have some basic knowledge.

One of the first things that you need to decide when you are starting an online business from scratch is if you will do your site yourself or if you will hire someone to build it for you.  The look and design of a website is probably the most important part of your online business.  If your site is poorly designed and looks unprofessional it will turn customers off to your products, no matter how great they may be.  If you plan to build the site yourself you will need to know a programming language.  HTML and Java are a couple of the different options you have in a programming language.  You may not know one of these languages now but if you look around your community you will probably be able to find classes that will get you started down the road to building your own website.
